Space Quest 6: How to Install

Instructions
The following is a tutorial which will install SQ6DOS to your computer and allow you to run without use of the CD. This has been tested with WinXP.

After downloading the SQ6_1.0.zip (Burn a disk using the ISO found inside the zip) Once, you have burned the disk, you may continue. (If you do not have access to a CD burner you can open the ISO with WinRAR and try that way)

Step 1: Explore the Space Quest 6 CD and run install.exe
Step 2: Choose #3 from the 4 selections and it will install defaultly into C:\SIERRA\SQ6DOS
Step 3: Create a folder called CD in the SQ6DOS folder
Step 4: Copy all of the Space Quest 6 CD to the CD folder (some of the files are not needed, but I am too lazy to pull out all the un-needed files)
Step 5: Go back to the SQ6DOS folder and edit 2 files: SQ6DOS.BAT and RESOURCE.CFG (coding found below)
Step 6: Create a BAT file to use DosBOX, I just used the file C:\SIERRA\SQ6DOS.BAT which was created during the install. (Use the SQ6DOS.BAT (Loader for DosBOX) coding below) Make sure to have DosBOX installed and that the location matches or change it.

That's it! Now, you can run Space Quest 6 from your computer without use of the CD.

Just run your loader or the file C:\SIERRA\SQ6DOS.BAT which you edited in Step 6.
